Noise monitoring

See when room noise needs attention.

StayControl monitors how room sound changes over time without recording conversations. Level, duration, quiet hours and configured rules help reveal when a noise condition may need attention—before the team has to find out from a complaint.

Earlier operational visibility

A complaint should not be the first signal.

Your team cannot be in every room or property. Continuous noise monitoring shows how sound changes over time, helping distinguish a brief change from a sustained condition that deserves review.

  1. 01

    During the stay

Keep sound levels visible while a property is occupied, without relying on staff visits or manual readings.

  2. 02

Not every noise event means the same thing

A brief daytime change differs from sustained elevated sound during quiet hours. Sound level becomes more useful when read together with duration and timing.

  3. 03

    Across a portfolio

Give teams a consistent view and reviewable history across managed properties, rather than relying only on complaints.

From sound level to context

Sound level is only part of the decision.

StayControl evaluates sound level together with duration, the property's quiet hours and the configured rule.

Inputs and context
What is happening
  • Sound level

    Measured over time.

  • Duration

    How long it continues.

When / under what rule
  • Quiet hours

    The property's quiet-hours period.

  • Configured rule

Set for the room or property.

Evaluation

Configured noise condition

The measured signal is evaluated against the operation's settings.

Why context matters

A brief daytime change may not mean the same as sustained elevated sound during quiet hours.

Monitoring boundary

Configured noise conditions are set for the operation; they are not a universal legal noise limit.

Condition to response

StayControl handles monitoring, records and alerts on its own.

StayControl can monitor the condition, create the incident record and notify the team on its own. Add an optional service only when the response needs to go further.

Included with StayControlMonitoring, incident record and team alert

StayControl monitors the condition, records the incident and sends included email or push alerts. Your team can act from there.

Extend the response if needed
  • StayAssist

Contact the guest or team by voice or message, with optional waits, retries, rechecks and escalation where configured.

    Explore StayAssist
  • Integrations

Add available reservation or guest details and supported actions where the connected provider supports them.

    See integrations
  • PartyStop

For selected professionally installed setups, interrupt one selected non-essential circuit after a configured StayControl noise incident. PartyStop does not detect noise.

    Explore PartyStop

All three extensions are optional. None guarantees contact, party prevention or incident resolution.

Reviewable incident context

Keep the incident context, not the conversation.

Review what StayControl measured, when the condition began and ended, and any available follow-up. The record gives the team a shared reference without storing room audio.

The record can show that an alert was sent. StayAssist response history and linked reservation context can appear where those services and connections are available.

Review and export

Use the record beyond the alert

PDF and CSV exports support internal review, owner updates, team follow-up and guest or OTA follow-up.

PDFCSV

StayControl monitors sound level and its configured context without recording room audio or conversation content. It does not identify who caused the noise or determine whether the source was music, conversation, furniture movement or another specific sound.

Incident records document monitored conditions and available follow-up. They do not guarantee legal proof or establish that a particular person caused the noise.

Explore StayControl
Does noise monitoring record conversations?

No. StayControl measures sound levels in decibels without recording room audio or guest conversations. It uses no cameras and does not analyse conversation content.

Can StayControl tell what caused the noise?

No. StayControl monitors sound level and configured context; it does not identify who caused the noise or determine whether the source was music, conversation, furniture movement or another specific sound.

Can noise monitoring prevent parties?

Noise monitoring can provide earlier visibility into sustained or elevated sound that may need attention. It cannot guarantee that a party, complaint or disturbance will be prevented.

Are StayAssist or PartyStop required?

No. StayControl provides monitoring, incident records and included email and push alerts on its own. StayAssist and PartyStop are optional ways to extend the response.

What happens if StayControl loses power or connectivity?

StayControl requires mains power and stable Wi-Fi. Monitoring, incident processing and platform alerts depend on connectivity. If the device is unplugged, a configured unplug notification can alert the team; it does not prevent disconnection.

Does StayControl define legal noise limits?

No. Operators configure conditions for their properties and operating needs. StayControl does not define universal legal limits or confirm compliance with local or building-specific rules.
